Pre-operative Instructions

Preparing for IV Sedation / Anesthesia

  1. 01 No food or drink (including water) for 8 hours prior to your surgery time if receiving IV sedation.
  2. 02 A responsible adult must accompany you to the office, remain in the office during the procedure, and drive you home.
  3. 03 Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing with short sleeves or sleeves that roll up easily.
Post-operative Instructions

Wisdom Teeth & Tooth Extractions

Bleeding Control

Keep firm bite pressure on the gauze pad placed over the surgical site for 30–45 minutes. Slight bleeding or oozing is normal for the first 24 hours.

Swelling & Ice Packs

Apply an ice pack to the side of your face over the surgical area for 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off during the first 24–48 hours.

Diet & Hydration

Drink plenty of liquids. Eat soft foods like yogurt, smoothies, pudding, and soups. Avoid hot liquids and do NOT use a straw for 7 days.

Something doesn’t feel right?

Pain that gets worse after day three, visible bone in the socket, fever or swelling that spreads: call us the same day.
